Vancouver Tile and Stone

Unlike collections kept by mainstream interior design outlets, our selection of tiles constantly changes according to the current angle being taken by our designers. Keeping a close eye on the market at any one time, our team carefully selects the range of tiles that we’d like to showcase. This allows us to keep our service tailor-made, and in line with what we consider to be the most exciting shifts in the world of interior design at the present time.

Porcelain Tiles

Porcelain is a popular choice for bathroom floor tiles because it can resist moisture and remain intact for years. These tiles are dense, impervious, fine-grained, smooth, and have a sharply formed face that makes an excellent addition to the clean lines in a kitchen or a bathroom environment. Given that porcelain tiles usually have a much lower water absorption rate of less than 0.5%, these tiles are more frost-resistant or frost-proof than their non-porcelain counterparts. Consequently, they are highly adaptable to both indoor and outdoor use and are suitable for environments that have to endure extremes in terms of temperature and moisture.

Glazed porcelain tiles are also generally much harder and more resistant to wear and damage than non-porcelain ceramic tiles, making them suitable for use in all environments; from those with light residential traffic to those with heavy commercial traffic. with  Full-body porcelain tiles carry the color through the entire thickness of the tile, making them virtually impervious to wear and allowing them to sustain their look and feel during a very prolonged lifespan. Available in matte, unglazed, or a high polished finish, there is a huge range of styles to suit every creative aspiration.

Ceramic Tiles

Ceramic or non-porcelain tiles are generally made from red or white clay fired in a kiln. Almost always finished with a durable glaze that carries the color and pattern, these tiles are used mostly for wall applications such as tub-surround walls or backsplashes. It’s worth taking into account that these tiles have a relatively high water absorption rating, and they are less frost resistant and are more prone to chipping. That being said, in the appropriate location they can still stand out as the best option, thanks to their authentic look and competitive pricing.

Real Marble is not preferred for flooring purposes since it needs to be sealed regularly. Marble will discolor easily if not maintained properly. Consequently, Porcelain tiles that look like marble are the preferred option for indoor flooring purposes since they are much more durable and easy to maintain.

When you’re running the same vinyl flooring throughout the entire place. This eliminates the need for a transition piece between your bathroom and the rest of your floor. Also, when you don’t have an in-floor heating system, vinyl may be a better choice because it is warmer than tiles under your feet.

A sealer is a protective barrier applied to porous tile surfaces, such as grout or natural stone. It absorbs into the pores and forms an invisible barrier that inhibits moisture penetration and stops mold and mildew growth.

Larger format tiles are more in trend at the moment but they are harder to work with. Mosaics, however, offer a wide selection of shapes, textures, and colors that will never go out of style. Mosaics are great for accents and borders.

Glass tiles are the most common type of tiles used for backsplash purposes since they are super easy to clean.
